City wins Stats SA award
The City of Cape Town has been recognised at the Statistics South Africa Awards for Excellence. The City was nominated in the Top Municipalities section in two categories: Dissemination and Economic and Financial Statistics, and was the overall winner in the "Dissemination" category.

Air pollution is a key factor in the overall health of our city. Polluted air poses not only a serious health risk to residents, killing almost 5 000 people a year (according to the Medical Research Council), but also mars the image our city’s image. (More)

Celebrate Reconciliation Day with free Concert in the Park
The City of Cape Town’s Arts and Culture Department will be hosting a free concert at Wynberg Park on Reconciliation Day, Wednesday 16 December 2009. The Concert in the Park is an annual event to encourage and celebrate reconciliation and national unity through music. (More)
City calls for comment on Atlantis housing development
The City of Cape Town is calling for public comments on a new subsidised housing project that it has planned for Atlantis. Atlantis Extension 12 is a residential development providing for 1300 single residential erven that was planned and approved during the 1980s to accommodate the expected demand for housing. (More)
Residents not to be intimidated into giving ‘Christmas Boxes’ to Solid Waste Staff
Residents are advised that the City has a policy that strictly forbids Solid Waste collection personnel and other service personnel from asking residents for ‘Christmas boxes’ and ‘donations’. (More)
