The city's 2010 FIFA World Cup™ stadium has a new
name: Cape Town Stadium
Councillors overwhelmingly voted for the simplest and most effective
name at a Council meeting on 28 October. Cape
Town residents had been asked to send in their suggested names plus
a motivation for their choice during a month-long public

City extends deadline to register for rates rebate The City of Cape Town has extended the rates rebate deadline until 30 November 2009. The rebate is offered to registered homeowners who have a total household income of R8 000 a month or less and are aged 60 years or more, or are the recipients of a disability pension/grant. (More) |
