City advises motorists to use alternative route along Koeberg Road
From Monday 26 October, motorists using the R27 through Milnerton are encouraged to use Koeberg Road as an alternative route, as construction of the Integrated Rapid Transit (IRT) lanes requires a contraflow traffic system to be implemented. (More)

Last chance to comment on Outdoor Advertising By-law
The City of Cape Town is giving all interested parties a last chance to comment on the final draft of the new Outdoor Advertising By-law, with public hearings on 22 and 23 October at the Civic Centre. (More)

  President Zuma New device helps blind, deaf pedestrians
The City of Cape Town plans to install devices designed to assist blind or deaf pedestrians at all new traffic signals, and at as many current intersections as possible. The Audio Tactile Pedestrian Detector has a vibrating button which emits both audio and tactile signals indicating that the green man signal is lit and that it is therefore safe to cross the road. The City of Cape Town has been rated as the top municipality in South Africa for service delivery by Empowerdex, an economic empowerment rating agency. The survey covered 231 local municipalities, 46 district municipalities and six metropolitan municipalities. (More)
Down town Cape town Preliminary testing starts on stadium lights
The Cape Town Stadium’s ‘ring of fire’ – the 360 inner spotlights that will light up the pitch for the 2010 FIFA World Cup – have been switched on for the first time. Motorists and residents in the surrounding area will have seen the big switch-on on Wednesday night.
