How to comment

Public participation in the by-law making process is vital in ensuring that each by-law is truly democratic. We therefore invite members of the public and key interest groups to comment on and give input regarding our draft by-laws.

Comment on the City’s proposed new subcouncil boundaries

Following the recent local government elections and the demarcation of new wards, the City has drawn up a draft by-law to change Cape Town’s subcouncil boundaries. Currently there are 23 subcouncils and 105 wards. The draft by-law groups adjoining wards and proposes new boundaries for 24 subcouncils. You are invited to have your say on this so that public comments can be considered before Council makes a final determination on these boundaries.

The closing date for comment is 18 July 2011.

The by-law is downloadable here - | English | Afrikaans | Xhosa |. Copies are also available at all subcouncil offices and City libraries for viewing purposes only.
