| Macassar Beach | <p>Macassar Beach is a long stretch of sand extending more than six kilometres along the foot of the Macassar dunes – Cape Town’s highest and most extensive dune system. The beach resort is accessed from Macassar Road, and includes a number of car parks, as well as a camping area. It is a very exposed stretch of coastline with powerful waves and currents, so swimming can be dangerous, although lifesavers from the local club keep watch during peak periods. </p><p>Kitesurfers often come here to take advantage of the strong winds, but the most regular visitors are anglers targeting fish such as elf, galjoen, white steenbras, kob and blacktail.
