Destination Marketing

This unit is responsible for:

  • targeting the right market segments for sustainable growth and optimising seasonal and geographical spread of tourists
  • Developing effective marketing strategies
  • Implementing responsible tourism strategies and policies
  • Providing funding for tourism promotion
  • Facilitating joint marketing alignments and initiatives with Cape Town Routes Unlimited and Cape Town Tourism

Strategic Tourism Infrastructure
This unit is responsible for:

  • Creating a conducive environment for tourism development through public sector investments and infrastructure that supports product and destination development
  • Developing sustainable and responsible tourism plant development
  • Enhancing transportation access to destinations and attractions

Cape Point Lighthouse

Tourism Industry Liaison
This unit is responsible for:

  • Co-ordinating activities with the City and for ensuring alignment with other spheres of government and related tourism organisations
  • Building partnerships between public, private sector and local communities
  • Enhancing co-operation and communication between tourism

Tourism Policy
This unit is responsible for:

  • Tourism Policies
  • Coordinating and facilitating tourism input into other policies and projects
