The Green Goal Legacy Report, published on 11 July 2011, one year after the end of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, reports on the results of the Host City Cape Town Green Goal programme. It documents the actual implementation of the projects, highlighting lessons learnt in the processes. The report also documents the process through which the Host City Cape Town Green Goal programme was developed and implemented, including the Green Goal 2010 workshop series and the local and national institutional framework. Finally, the report provides recommendations to serve as encouragement to the greening efforts of those planning future FIFA World Cup™ tournaments and other mega-events in Cape Town, South Africa and the rest of the world.
