The City's clinics offer the following services to minimise the spread of HIV and treat infected people:

• Freely available condoms
• Counselling and testing for HIV
• Treatment of associated (opportunistic) infections and monitoring of clients suffering from HIV infection (non hospital care)
  
• Prevention of spread of HIV from HIV positive mothers to their babies (co-ordinated by Provincial Administration of the Western Cape). This is currently being implemented in Cape Town, and all relevant public sector facilities should have this service soon.
